Seriously!? Why do we insist on asking questions that we do not want to hear the answers to? Why do we choose to punish ourselves in such a way!?
(Last night while lying in bed next to my husband.)
ME: "Honey, how much more would you love me if I weighed 110 pounds?"
HIM: "I have no idea."
Okay, really. Could he throw me a freak'in bone here?
I asked. He answered.

Delurking...
We ask because we expect a certain answer...like, 'oh hun, I couldn't possibly love you more. Your weight has nothing to do with how much I love you.' Men, however, aren't real good with coming up with those answers on demand. And yet...we love them. ;)
I don't know your situation but, just from a few things you've posted, your husband doesn't seem all that supportive. (ie miscarriage and weight) Of course what we see is probably just a snippet therefore I don't mean to judge.
Just wanted to delurk to say that I enjoy reading your blog and as another woman, that is trying to lose weight, I hear ya!
Ouch. Not the answer you wanted at all.
If you think about it, though, he may be on to something. Would you be the same person if you weighed 110 pounds? Not with respect to values, but with how you live your life? Speaking for myself only, I'm amazed at how open I am to trying new things and going new places without the fears and burdens that come with the extra weight.
Just offering hubs a glimmer of hope here. :) (Pinch him for me if you don't mind. Just on principle.)
Good story telling. It made me laugh! You cant blame the men. They aren't as quick as us and he was probably tired. They are special that species.
I once asked my husband if he would love me the same if I weighed 500 lbs. His response, "I would find that difficult." I almost didn't marry him for that. After 5 years of marriage, two kids, and the fact that I love him more today and he weighs almost 400 lbs--I know his answer would be different today. I agree with Amy--men don't know how to respond to questions like that. They don't think as fast as we do and they just don't think the same way. It's never a good idea to ask a loaded question. Blessings--Bonnie
Oooh, he's in trouble for that one! *Hugs* Hope you are feeling some better...

Yeah, men just don't get it! Sorry guys, but you really don't!!!
Thanks for the laugh! I could so picture my hubby saying that and probably worse!
Consider it a lesson learned!
Ill never get men (or myself :))
I still ask and then usually cut the husband off with a WAIT DO NOT ANSWER THAT!!!!

Ouch. I can sympathize. My S.O. was the major motivation for me to start loosing weight. I think, however that he was trying his best to give a non-offensive answer. I don't think he'd love you any more, or any less. He just had no idea how to say that without stepping in it!
Ah men....they really don't seem to get that what we are really asking them is to tell us how much they love us now...I totally sympathize, my boyfriend is the same way.
