I just read a friend's blog in which she goes on to say that their health insurance rate is $10 higher than they were expecting. The reason? Because her husband is 10 pounds underweight. Damned if you do, damned if you don't!!!
My "beanpole" husband went to the Dr. for his yearly physical about a month ago...he was told that he was over weight for his height. Our friends laugh hysterically when the hear this because they always tell us how thin he is! I think sometimes the "offic1al charts" must be off!
Actually, from what I've read, health risks are significantly HIGHER for people who are underweight, rather than overweight. It's just there aren't very many people who are underweight.
But yes, it does seem like there's a very thin (pardon the pun) line to walk for being "healthy" which really cannot be right. People come in different shapes.
After struggling with my weight for over 25 years, I have decided to undergo the Lap-Band procedure and hope that I will continue to have all of your support even after making such an important and difficult decision. I was banded on August 28th, 2009. I would love for you to follow my journey, so come on in, put your feet up and take a look around! :)

Isn't that the truth!
I love your cartoons!
Yes, poor skinny people. But seriously, I know a few gals like that and it's just as hard from their side of the fence.
Loved the story about the scale and weighing in on carpet :)
I guess no one has it easy!
