So Worried...

My friend invited me to attend a Broadway production with her this evening, and I am absolutely panic stricken! I am SO afraid that I won't fit comfortably in the seats and that I will be "spilling" over into the seats next to me. I HATE this! These are the times where you hit yourself in the head with a frying pan for not having lost weight yet.

Please pray that I get through this evening with my dignity intact and that I actually enjoy the show!

Ack! The seat dilemma. It really bugs me, too.

It's so humbling to get all dressed up and then get to a spot and realize you're going to be sitting askew all night (and you just know you're neck or shoulder is going to hurt the next day), apologizing to the guy next to you and waiting for the show to end so you can get the hell outta that chair!

Never mind the fight for the arm rest!

I think most "normal" sized folks don't notice us taking up as much space as we think we do and kind of expect contact, but we're so focussed on not spilling over we're hyperaware.

Let us know how it goes.

ive actually driven to a concert hall to purchase tickets where i could pick the exact seat so that i knew i could sit on the end of a row.

the things we do - man i can't wait to not think about that kinda stuff anymore!

Oh boy do I hear you on this, Lynn!
Good Luck on *not spilling*.
and hey ...
you're a beautiful woman maybe they'll love that! :D
*trying to look on the brightside*

I hope you enjoy the show!

I know how that feels. One time I was asked to move because of the fact I was taking up too much room at a concert. It's not fun.

Hopefully though, those seats are just fine, and you will not only fit, but be able to truly enjoy the show!

Have a great time.

I also used to insist on an end seat if I could. If I was in a group with friends I told them that I often had to pee in the middle so I wanted an easy escape route. Only partially true... I did tend to pee more often but I just didn't want to spill over :(

Let us know how it goes!!

Ive been there way more than once. My daughter is a Musician and she loves Drum Corps. I bought 3 tickets to the DCI (Drum Corp International) at the Georgia Dome ($150), drove 5 hours to get there and had to sit in the handicap section at the top because I couldnt fit in the seat. I was so mad at myself! Your doing something about it, so dont dwell on "this" time. Enjoy the show and know that the next one you wont worry about fitting in the seat! You can do it!
