One Day Down, the Rest of my Life to Go

Well, I made it through today. It wasn't too bad, but the afternoon is always hard for me. It is so boring to sit around the house with my two boys waiting for my husband to come home from work. THANK GOD I was able to talk on the phone with my best friend who is doing this weight loss thing right along with me. I don't think I could even think about surviving this feat without her love and support. Thank you Kate!!! :)
My husband chose Chick-fil-A for our big night out on the town tonight. That choice was perfectly fine for me, because I knew exactly what I would eat. I ended up ordering a grilled chicken sandwich with a small soda. So, that was around 8 points according to the WW scale. The kitchen is closed, and with my 8 points for dinner I am done for the day. Now, to make it through tomorrow...

Dear Lynn, Thanks for visiting my blog. I hope it really is an encouragement to you. It sounds like you are doing weight watchers, which is how I lost my weight. I still think they are the most well-rounded weight loss program around because they include some of the mental work you need to do in order to be successful. For me, the key is what you have put in the title of this blog, THE REST OF MY LIFE TO GO. All along I have tried to make changes that I could live with for the rest of my life. I have tried to be adventurous and try new foods that I never would have tried in my old life, and I LOVE my new way of eating. I could overeat these new healthy foods too. Be sure to eat a well-rounded diet, and to eat throughout the day, and to eat all the points you are allowed. Well, that's enough for now, GOOD LUCK!

Hi Lyn, thanks for popping in to visit us at One Weigh or Another. You're welcome to come over anytime.
I just wanted to encourage you that you CAN do this. I stated my weight loss journey at 294lb, having pretty much been fat all my life. I'm at 217 at the moment (I have been as low as 206, but some freaky side effects of meds are happening at the moment!)
Anyway, I can't tell you how much difference the weight loss has made to my life, and I just wanted to encourage you not to give up. Take it one day at a time, and if you screw up (which I do all the time!) don't give up, but start afresh at the next meal or the next day.
lots of love and hugs,
Dx

Just stay positive. I know I tend to think negatively and I then realize that I am only human and that I can reach the goals I have set for myself. Changing your lifestyle is the first step and you are worth it.

Hey Lynn - I found your blog through Debbyweighsin.

I think WW is a great way to start! You didn't mention if you are exercising - I have found that the weight does not come off if I don't do something sweaty for 30 minutes every day. Start slow and build up from there.

One thing I have learned, DON'T GIVE UP!! Even if you are frustrated and feel like the scale is not cooperating, just realize that you ARE moving forward because you have made the decision to live a better life. Do one thing everyday that will move you forward in the direction of your goals. And if something isn't working for you, try something new! It's okay to change things up from time to time.

You will find a whole new world of encouragement in bloggyland. Just keep posting and keep moving forward and you will do great!!
