It Is What It Is

I just logged onto Facebook and found out that one of my friends has posted a few recent pictures of me- and of course tagged me. So, there I am for everyone to see in all of my blubbery glory.

My first instinct was to immediately un-tag myself, but then I realized something. It is what it is. I am who I am and I can't change that right now- but I am learning to like myself. For someone who VERY carefully selected the photos I chose to post, this is quite an accomplishment of resignation on my behalf.

I felt this way when I left up a bathing suit pic (OK, so it's only waist-up. . but still!) that a friend posted and tagged.

Funny enough, tonight I went through my photos and was wondering if I should un-tag the heavier ones so that people I reconnect with won't know I got very heavy for a while. How freaking vain is that?! :) I left them up anyway.

BTW, thanks for your nice post! I think you are totally gorgeous as well and can't wait to see how much more this whole process shows off your great features! :)

Have a great night!

I think in some ways it probably shows that you are in a good place emotionally that you didn't untag yourself.

When I struggled with obesity I avoided getting my picture taken, and even as the scale was going down, there aren't as many pictures of me as I would have thought.

Keep up your good work!

I think that is good that you didn't untag yourself! That is why I posted pic of myself in my bathing suit on my blog because I just wanted to get it out there and get it over with. :)

I totally feel you on this! I'm the same, the photography and photo editor of the family so it's been easy to make sure those horrifying pics never leaked. Now i'm like, "that's ok b/c that's the old me. that's the me in progress." I just am learning that I won't ever be there again so I'm at peace w/ that old person and old bad habits!

i am proud of you for not untagging yourself. i have posted pics of myself, and think afterwards, yuck, but i figure i might as well see what everyone else is seeing. this has helped keep me motivated.
